We were hoisted up the mountain with a pickup truck and then took a nice long ride around the area, ending up in Matagalpa. This is coffee are and it was picking time so there was armed guards everywhere. Apparently cars get robbed because they are carrying the wages for the coffee pickers. Beautiful riding in a beautiful setting. We even managed to ride a long downhill section through some plantation covered with nets, which was a pretty strange experience. The bikes were pretty shoddy with seized forks and worn out brakes. Still, an awesome day out.
