Dropped off a crate of stuff to be bead blasted. Everything that needs to be sprayed has to go to the paint guy next week. Other than that, I was trying to get the bottom bearing and race off the steering stem, and failed miserably. The bearing came off in pieces, but I couldn’t get the damn race off, no matter what I tried. Frustrated…. I’m in the point of considering getting some machined yokes just to avoid the problem. By the way, how does the stem itself come off the bottom yoke? Just pure force? Hammer? Heat?
Well, not all failures tonight tho. I managed to whack out the sprocket carrier bearing, which was immensely satisfying after struggling with the stem. It was a good thing I did too, as it looks like it’s in a pretty sorry state. The sprocket carrier itself is taking a solvent bath tonight.
