The 690 looking pretty miserable, stripped in the corner. IMHO the saddest part is the Heidenau DS tyre. Fortunately there is still one rebuild left, even if it leads to the original state of the bike. Then the story of this bike continues in a new home, where it will hopefully bear its new owner into epic adventures.
I love this 690, and this is a sad time after everything I’ve been through with it. But once it’s gone I will not miss it. I do not look at the rearview mirror, but instead focus on the the trails ahead of me.

You are really about to sell the 690??? Oh… I’m still looking for a suitable one for me for the South American tour next year. Your optimizations and comments on the reliablity gave the final input for the decision to buy just this bike for long distance travel.
