We dropped down to La Libertad from San Salvador with Akwaterra. I would definitely recommend them. Gabi and Julio were awesome in arranging the trips and their guides pleasant and professional. The bikes were okay too. I ended up with a hard tail sporting the shortest handlebars I’ve ever ridden. They looked like something off a bike messengers fixie. Very snappy to ride.
The run was nicely varied with some smooth rolling hard pack, rock gardens and ruts as well as cobblestone DH and tarmac. True to her style, my better half shed some blood for the ride.
El Salvador was a fantastic country. The capital is bustling with energy and nights out there are something to remember. On the other hand I’ve never seen so much barbed wire and firearms in my life. These guys take security very seriously.
