A couple of people kindly stated that my assumption, of the 19 litre tank sufficiently protecting the radiators, might be rather optimistic. Hence the shipment from Bulletproof Designs. There are two sets; one for my bike and one for my riding buddy for the final chapter of The Crimson Trail this summer. Both of course KTM 500 EXC’s.
I’ve got the same rad guards on my 2016 500exc and Rads are safe and sound. Great fit & finish too: ) Thanx for all the blogging and inspiration btw! How many kms do you have one the 500 now?

Hi Clay, and many thanks for your comment. I’m looking forward to slapping on the orange guards among other things during the weekend. It’s been rather quiet in the garage lately but now that we’re into the new season it’s time to get busy again. I currently have about 120 hours and 7000 km on the clocks without any issues. I’ll be getting the forks and rear shocks serviced as well as replace the clutch dampers as it seems to have developed a bit of a clatter. Other than that, I suppose the tear down and rebuild will tell more eventually. Cheers!
